Willie Randall Obituary

Willie Boyd Randall, age 89, passed on April 9, 2026, leaving behind a long trail of love, hard work, and quiet strength that will not soon fade. He was born August 1, 1936, in Roanoke, Texas, and raised in Webb, Texas, where he learned early the values of grit, faith, and living close to the land.

Willie graduated from Arlington High School and went on to build a life rooted in family, faith, and honest work. On June 17, 1955, he married the love of his life, Peggy J. Austin, at Webb Baptist Church. Together, they built a legacy that stretched across generations, grounded in devotion and resilience.

Over the years, Willie called Arlington, Venus, and Malone, Texas home, but his heart was always wherever there was open land and honest work to be done. He was a cowboy through and through—a man of few words whose actions spoke volumes. Whether he was out huntin’, fishing, working cattle, roping calves, tending to crops, baling hay, or simply enjoying the outdoors, Willie found his peace under wide Texas skies. After 39 years of working at General Motors, he retired to his dream 100-acre farm in Malone, TX.

He had a deep love for reading western books, often finding comfort in stories that mirrored the life he lived—simple, strong, and true. Those who knew him best will remember a steady presence, a quiet wisdom, and a man who didn’t need many words to say what mattered most. Mr. Randall was a 52-year Master Mason and a member of Arlington Masonic Lodge.

Willie was preceded in death by his parents, Lifford Frank Randall and Willie Faye “Elson” Randall; his brother, Joe Randall; and his sister, Wanda McQueary.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Peggy Randall; his children, Lee Ann Markham and husband Buddy, Randy Randall and wife Wendy, and Ronny Randall and wife Lisa. He also leaves behind a proud legacy in his grandchildren—Elizabeth, Jeannie, Harold, Hattie, Willie, Sam, Lynn, Joey, Daniel, Wade, Wesley, and Trisha—along with 36 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Willie Boyd Randall lived the kind of life that doesn’t need dressing up—a life built on hard days’ work, love for family, and respect for the land. He leaves behind footprints in the dirt, stories in the wind, and a legacy that will carry on for generations.

In true cowboy fashion, he has ridden on ahead—quietly, steadily, and on his own terms.
