William "Bill" Edward Russell, of Grandview, Texas, peacefully went to be with the Lord Sunday, March 21, 2021 in his home surrounded by loved ones. Bill was born in Happy, Texas on March 8, 1932 to William P. Russell and Maggie (Russell) Headrick. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Patricia Russell and 14 children; Brenda Webb, Anthony Russell and wife Linda, Susan and husband Kevin Childress, Bryan Russell and wife Lisa, Clark Russell and wife Tina, Dalan Russell and wife Jessica, Corey Russell, Stetson Russell, Skylar Russell, Heaven and husband John Ballesteros, Ty Russell, Kamrun Russell, Shade Russell, Keke Russell, as well as 21 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and his brother Earnest Headrick. He was preceded in death by his parents, step dad Charly Headrick, sisters Leona and Nina, brother Jerry Headrick , daughter Amy Jo, son-in-law, Richard Webb and grandsons Peyton Russell and Alan Webb.
Bill obtained his GED and enlisted in the Army, serving 2 years as a surveyor (and unofficial photographer) including a deployment overseas in Germany. After serving, he met the love of his life, Patty, and they married on May 15, 1960. They moved to Grandview in 1978, where they raised the family and actively served in the community. Bill spent 17 years on the local city council.
Bill enjoyed trains and photography, but his greatest joy was faithfully serving and leading his family. Lovingly known by many as “Bull”, he was a proud and loving husband/father/grandfather, daycare bus driver, breakfast chef, and believer in Jesus Christ. He had a firm faith in the Lord Jesus and regularly told people that he was "living forever but thankfully not in this body." He is now experiencing the fullness of that joy and hope.
