Charles Edwards, 80, of Glen Rose, TX, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2025, at Medical City Dallas Hospital. Charles was born on January 5, 1945, in Waxahachie, TX, to the late Wayne and Monetta Edwards. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Charles had a love of learning and teaching, mastering his skills working on projects, spending time with his family, and attending church. Charles was a dedicated Manufacturing Engineer for 30 years at Menasco and Lockheed Martin. Charles ran ranches in Grandview and Bullard TX where he tended to cows, horses and other farm animals. He taught his granddaughter how to ride horses and taught his son and grandson many skills in carpentry, welding, and construction. After retirement he found happiness in teaching within the vocational tech field and started his own gunsmithing business. He was active in gunsmithing up until he passed. Charles was an active member of the Church of Christ and enjoyed fellowship with his fellow church members.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda, whom he married on November 18, 1978; by his son Michael Lee, of Granbury; his granddaughter, Becca, of Midlothian; grandson, Michael Dwayne, of Granbury; great granddaughter, Maci, daughter of Becca; his sister, Cindy Wiggins (and Steve), of Maypearl; niece and nephew Melissa (Seth) of Grandview and Clifton (Brandy) of Midlothian; and many more nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Monetta Edwards; sister, Annette Sykora; son, Dwayne Young; and other family members.
Rest in peace, Charles. You were influential in so many lives and your passing has left a deep void in our hearts. You will be missed very much. We love you.
Graveside service, only, will be held on April 4, 2025, at the Grandview Cemetery, 8501 FM 4 Grandview, TX 76050, at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, we ask you to think about your fond memories of Charles and share at the service, if you feel called to.
