Wannie Schneck, age 79, passed peacefully in her sleep at 9:43pm on Thursday, July 16, 2020. She was born September 19, 1940 to James Clinton “J.C.” and Dorothy Lorene (Sims) “Granny” Shaw in Lillian, Texas. After meeting her husband Richard Schneck at the Showboat in Las Vegas where they both worked at the time, Richard and Wannie were married at a small chapel in January 1975. Shortly after marrying, Richard and Wannie (a Texas girl at heart) relocated back to Grandview to begin their life and their family together. Wannie excelled at many things in her life, including running a small bakery and later a successful convenience store in Alvarado with her husband Richard as well as a small gas station / tire repair shop in Grandview for many years. Wannie loved the Lord and loved to read her bible, but was most known for being a devoted mother and grandmother to her only daughter and two grandchildren.
Wannie was preceded in death by both parents and her husband; Richard. She is survived by her daughter Jamie (Schneck) Presas, two grandchildren, Caelan Schneck and Emma Mitchell, as well as her younger sister, three younger brothers, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Thursday, July 23 from 10:00am - 11:00am at Clayton Kay Vaughn Funeral Home in Alvarado with services being held immediately after, followed by interment at Grandview Cemetery.
