Wanda Easterly Obituary

Wanda Joy Easterly, 92, of Alvarado, Texas, passed away on February 9, 2026.

Wanda was born on September 16, 1933, in Greenville, Hunt County, Texas, to Raymond Henry Williams and Bessie Manilla Mays. She grew up in Midlothian, Texas, where she formed lifelong values of faith, family, and hard work.

She was united in marriage to Billy Dean Easterly, and together they built a life rooted in love and devotion. Wanda worked for many years as a key punch operator, a role that reflected her strong work ethic and attention to detail.

Wanda made her home in Alvarado, Texas, and was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Alvarado. She loved being involved in church life and joyfully served in many ways, especially where children and people gathered. From Vacation Bible School to helping in the kitchen and caring for little ones in the nursery, Wanda found happiness in being part of the laughter, fellowship, and shared moments that made church feel like family. Her faith was a steady and joyful presence throughout her life.

She lived a life filled with fun, games, and laughter and had a special love for kids, people, and family. Wanda was known for being a winner at many games and found joy in quilting, crafting, working word finds, and playing dominoes. These simple pleasures brought her comfort and happiness and were often shared with those she loved.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Henry Williams and Bessie Manilla Mays, and her siblings, Zelna (Z.W.) Williams, Aaron Williams, Lula Mae Williams, and Rheba Ann Williams.

She is survived by her sister, Ramona Murphy; her son, Philip Easterly and his spouse, Rebekah Easterly, and her daughter, Deona (Easterly) Basham and her spouse, Michael Basham; her grandchildren, Brandon Basham, Alisha Basham, Madison Wallace, Sebastian Easterly, and Angelina Easterly; and her great-grandchildren, Leah Wallace, Lily Wallace, and Maggie Basham.

Wanda will be remembered for her joyful spirit, love of people, playful heart, and unwavering devotion to her family.
