Veneese (Neesie) Lynn Stewart

Veneese (Neesie) Lynn Stewart, age 67, of Alvarado, Texas, passed away on May 20, 2025. She was born in Longview, Texas, to Clovis Duane Stewart and Bettye Ruth (Peterson) Stewart.

A proud graduate of Alvarado High School, Class of 1976, Veneese—affectionately known as Neesie—was a woman of strong faith who loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She cherished her role as a mother to her only son, Tommy Gene Dobbs, Jr., and found her greatest joy in helping raise her beloved grandchildren: Devon Allen Dobbs, Caleb Michael Dobbs, and Tarrah Marie Dobbs.

Neesie had a passion for music and loved attending live concerts with her sister Cathy and brother-in-law Bill Gillihan. She also enjoyed fishing, solving crossword puzzles, and spending time with her family. Her warm spirit and kind heart were a blessing to all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Duana Jean Fehse, Danny Lee Stewart, and Michael Wayne Stewart.

Neesie is survived by her son Tommy Gene Dobbs and his fiancé, Heather O'Bannon, grandchildren, sister Cathy and husband Bill Gillihan, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss her dearly.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at Clayton Kay Vaughan Funeral Home, with interment to follow at Glenwood Cemetery in Alvarado. Following the service, all friends and family are invited to a gathering celebrating the life of Neesie at 1940 County Road 307, Cleburne, TX 76033.
