Velma Oleta Lubke, 94, passed away on August 1, 2020 at the Grandview Nursing Home.
Born in Clifton Texas on September 11, 1925, Oleta grew up in Clifton Texas, attended Clifton High School and received her degree in Home Economics from North Texas University. When Oleta learned that her fiancé Herb Lubke was alive and a POW during World War II, a comforting bible verse to her was Psalm 121: 1-2, "I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heave and earth." The family finds strength and comfort in this Bible verse today. On August 31, 1946, Oleta was married to Herb Lubke.
