For those who knew him well, found he resembled the perfect cross between Archie Bunker and Fred Sanford at times. Tommy was known for his gift of gab, which made him a successful salesman in everything from electronic components to truck parts. After many years of sales, he became an owner-operator driving big rigs, until he decided to retire at the age of 74.
In his spare time, Tommy loved tinkering over at the Pondarosa, as he used to call it, building and working on various projects. Tommy played baseball and ran track in his youth, and was known for his speed, so much so, he was hailed as the fastest man in Texas by those that couldn’t keep up with him. As a young adult, he played slow pitch softball, up until the age of 49. He was also an avid football and baseball fan, a firm believer of God’s Word, a former pastor and 26-year member of Bethel Temple Assembly of God in Cleburne Tx.
