Thomas Lee Perkins       September 24, 1943  -  February 23, 2023
Thomas Lee Perkins of Alvarado passed away while at home surrounded by loved ones.  He was born Sept. 24, 1943 to R. L. and Thelma Perkins in Hillsboro, Texas. After graduating from Whitney High School, he married Dana Watts, and they celebrated 59 years of marriage and family. Tommy was a member of First Baptist Church Alvarado, and served as a deacon for almost 40 years.  He retired as a pipe fitter after 30 years at General Motors. His greatest joy was spending time with his wife and family.  He and Dana especially loved seeing the country in their travel trailer and going to grandkid’s activities and ballgames.  He was a playful and loving Pop Pop to four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Tommy is preceded in death by his parents  and his sister Bonnie Penney. His surviving children are Carrie Perkins of Alvarado, Ginger Russell and Husband Brad of Mt. Hope, Kansas, and Toby Perkins and wife Sabra of Aubrey.  He is also survived by siblings Bobby Perkins of Tolar,  Billy Perkins of Whitney, and Patsy Stewart of Whitney. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
