Terry Rolen Hancock

Terry Rolen Hancock, 75, of Alvarado, Texas, went home to be with our Lord on Sunday, August 10, 2025. Born on October 25, 1949, in Crosbyton, Texas, to Pauline and Ray Hancock, Terry lived a life rich with family, faith, and purpose.

He married the love of his life, Carol Rousseau Hancock, on December 27, 1969. Together they built a strong and loving family, and shared 55 beautiful years of marriage. Terry is survived by his devoted wife, Carol, his daughter and son-in-law, Shelly and Brian, and his cherished grandchildren Sierra, Seth, Marley, and Kennedy, along with beloved great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to his life.

Terry is preceded in death by his daughter Shannon Kapoor, sister Shirley Maze, and his brothers Gary, Keith, and Donald Hancock.

A proud graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington, Terry earned his Master’s degree and dedicated his professional life to serving others through his work at the Sanders Estes Unit, where he worked until his retirement. He was known for his strong work ethic, integrity, and compassion.

Terry lived life to the fullest. From his fearless days of bull riding in the rodeo to his deep love for the outdoors, he embraced every adventure. Whether he was fishing, hunting, or meticulously restoring classic cars—his passion—Terry brought energy, skill, and heart into everything he did.

A proud and committed Mason since the early 90's, Terry valued the strength of brotherhood, service, and moral uprightness that the fraternity embodied. He forged lifelong bonds through the Masonic Lodge and served with dignity, embodying the principles of faith, charity, and fellowship.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 14 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Clayton Kay Vaughan Funeral Home in Alvarado, TX.

Services to honor Terry’s life will be held on Friday, August 15 at 10:00 AM at Clayton Kay Vaughan Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at Cahill Cemetery located behind
