Teresa Gail Monk

Teresa Gail Rhodes Monk was born September 14, 1954 and was raised in Alvarado,
Texas with parents Berta and Billy Rhodes. She married the love of her life Michael
Glen Monk on September 30, 1972 and welcomed daughter Sondra Kay in 1973.
Teresa devoted her life to caring for her family, garden, farming, running the family
businesses, and many special animals especially Blue and Ellie (her German
Shepards). She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Divinity from B. H. Carroll Theological
Institute while helping to care for her granddaughter Camille, and was a Youth Minister
for many years at Lebanon Baptist Church in Cleburne. More recently she was blessed
to help raise her two great-granddaughters Paytin and Paxtyn, who loved baking and
cooking with her.
Preceded in death by parents Berta and Billy Rhodes, parents in law Arvid and Fern
Monk, and brothers in law Chris and Joe Paul Monk.
Teresa is survived by husband Mike, daughter Sondra Kay and husband Leonard
Stewart, granddaughter Camille Larson, great granddaughters Paytin and Paxtyn,
sisters Sherry Reeves and Charolett and husband Robert Hobson, brother Richard
Rhodes and wife Dee, nieces and nephews Annette, Scooter, Jennifer, Jonathan,
Jessica, Joshua, Dustin, Brandon and their spouses, many great nieces and nephews,
and a host of extended family and friends.
