Tammie Hagood, a caring daughter, sister, aunt and great aunt, friend and lover of animals, left us suddenly on January 22, 2021 at age 58.
She was born Tammie Beth Hagood in Lubbock Texas on July 4, 1962. Tammie was a 1980 graduate of Alvarado High School, where her love of tennis was born while excelling on the tennis team. Tammie was married in 1984 to Mario Zamora, and spent time with her Air Force husband living in San Antonio Texas and Charleston South Carolina during their ten year marriage. Tammy developed a love of photography during this time and loved to indulge her friends and family over the years taking many photographs. Tammie returned to North Texas and settled in Arlington after her divorce.
During her 21 years living in her home in Arlington, Texas, Tammie became passionate about many things, and worked hard on many home improvements, most of the time doing the work herself. No challenge was too big for her to tackle. She loved to look through cookbooks and cook foods of many flavors, testing her delicious discoveries on her friends and family. Tammie made many good lifelong friends as she returned to the tennis world, loved to play for many years, and rarely missed her favorite professional players in the French Open or at Wimbledon. She developed a love of plants and gardening, and did much of the work on her landscaping and gardening herself. Her big heart and lifelong love of pets made it only natural for her to take on trapping, spaying and releasing local feral cats and providing food and shelter in her own garage for them. Love of travel led her to many adventures with friends and family, including camping at many Texas State Parks, visiting beaches both near and abroad, and cruising to tropical locations, she was always up for an adventure!
Tammie had beat and was a five year breast cancer survivor, but was diagnosed with liver cancer in 2020 which was unrelated to her previous breast cancer, but this aggressive disease took her life much too soon.
She was preceded in death by her father Tom Moore. She is survived by her mother Bonnie Moore of Alvarado, brothers Shane Hagood and Travis Moore, and many nephews, nieces, aunts and uncles.
