Steven Lee Kelley (Steve) of Alvarado, Texas passed away in his home on May 7, 2023 after valiant battle
with esophageal cancer at the age of 49. Steve was born in Dallas, TX on January 17, 1974 to Bryan
Kelley and Kathy Dees. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother.
Steve grew up in South Grand Prairie and moved to Alvarado in 2002 with his two children Haley and
Tyler. Steve met Melanie in 2011, gaining another daughter, Brooklynn. They moved in together in 2014
and married in 2016 living in Alvarado. Together they raised 3 of the most beautiful and caring children
and built a home and life they loved. Steve worked for Fort Worth & Western Railroad since 2002.
Steve loved to be outdoors going fishing, camping, and spending time with family. One of his favorite
spots was Hamm Creek. He had never been on an airplane until 2016, but after his first flight, he loved
to travel with his family and friends. Since then, he enjoyed so many places like Washington DC, Antigua,
Florida, Arizona, Bahamas, and many more. While traveling he really enjoyed snorkeling, scuba diving,
and zip lining. One of his favorite trips was taking all 3 of the kids to Turks & Caicos.
He lived life to the fullest and loved with all his heart! You will always be part of us and we will miss him
every day. However, spread your wings, soar high, and we will see you again.
Steve is survived by his wife: Melanie Kelley, Daughters: Brooklynn Archuleta, and Haley Onderdonck
and son-in-law Robert. Granddaughter Rylee Onderdonck. Parents: Don and Kathy Dees, Brother: Craig
(Morgan) Kelley, and niece Kirbie. Brother-in-Law: Justin (Susan) Roberts. Sister-in-law: Jacklyn (Primo
Man) Roberts, Step-sister: Mistie Helms, and Step-brother: Shannon Dees.
His fight is finally over, he is now at rest and is accompanied by Son: Tyler Kelley, Grandparents: Edward
and Tommie Partin, Sister-in-Law Kelley Snyder, Father: Bryan Kelley, Mother-in-law: Deb Roberts, and
Nephew: Keegan Kelley.
