Sarah Juanita Martin (1931-2023)

Sarah Juanita Martin, age 91, of Grandview, Texas, passed away on June 18, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 8, 1931, in Elmore, Alabama, the daughter of Vencin and Gladys Wood. On September 21, 1957, Sarah married the love of her life, Emmett Martin. They built a beautiful life together in Grandview, Texas and were married for over 54 years. Sarah and Emmett were blessed with three children and ten grandchildren.

Sarah was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother. She was a woman of great faith. One of Sarah's greatest passions was gardening. She had a natural green thumb and enjoyed planting flowers and vegetables in her large garden. She loved being outdoors and soaking up the warmth of the sun. She loved playing the piano and sewing and spending time with the grandchildren.

Sarah is survived by her children: Tammie Till and husband Ricky, Donna Valerio and husband Ines and Marcus Martin and wife Toby.

Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, Vencin and Gladys Wood, Her husband Emmett Martin, and her grandson Brent Goforth and her siblings: Charles Wood, Bennie Wood and Parker Wood.

Sarah will be deeply missed by her family and friends, and her unwavering love and kindness will be remembered forever.

She will be buried at the DFW National Cemetery on July 5, 2023.
