Sandra Ann Wilson, passed away peacefully, on Friday, June 24, 2022, at her home in Alvarado, Texas. In keeping with Sandra’s wishes, the family will be having a Celebration of Life. Arrangements are still pending. Sandra was born on July 10, 1941, in Rosenberg, Texas to Marvin and Clara (Blase) Geick. Sandra, also known to many as “Sandy,” grew up in Rosenberg on the family farm and graduated from Lamar Consolidated High School. She attended Sul Ross University in Alpine, Texas. Sandra had two children, daughter, Kimberly, born in 1963, in Kingsville, Texas, followed by her son, Robert, in 1966, in Grand Prairie, Texas, both of whom she shared with her former spouse, Michael Tate. Sandra lived with her family in Grand Prairie for a number of years, where she was active in the PTA and the Girl’s Fast Pitch Softball League. In 1986, Sandra began working as a customer service representative for Texas Utilities Electric Company (now known as TXU). Sandra enjoyed her job because of the many people she met and was able to help in some way. Sandra retired from TXU in 2003 for health reasons. Sandra married Benjamin Wilson on June 17, 1987 and they were happily married for 35 years. In 1994, Sandra and Ben moved to Cleburne, Texas, to build a house on property they had purchased from Ben’s family. Sandra loved every second of living on the farm. One of her favorite aspects of being back on a farm was having horses, donkeys and cattle. Sandra enjoyed seeing the new calves each year and was always happy for her grandchildren to come out and ride one of the horses or spend time outdoors. Sandra also enjoyed the many dogs that lived with them over the years. In 2017, Sandra and Ben sold the farm and moved to a smaller property in Alvarado, Texas, where she lived until her death. Sandra’s greatest joy in life was her family. She loved her children dearly and was overjoyed when she became a grandmother. Known as LaLa or Mankie to her grandchildren, Sandra enjoyed being a part of their lives, attending school functions, having sleepovers and cooking their favorite foods together, going out for special birthday lunches, watching the Cowboys play on tv, or doing something fun outdoors on the farm. All of Sandra’s grandchildren were blessed to be able to travel with her to various parts of the country on several occasions, making special memories. Sandra will be missed by all who knew her and continue to love her. Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Clara Geick, one brother, Byron Geick, her beloved aunt, Norma Blase, and other aunts, uncles and cousins. She is survived by her husband Ben, her brother, Dean and his wife Linda, her daughter Kimberly St. John and her husband, Warren, her son Robert Tate and his wife Sarah, her grandchildren Samuel and Joseph Tate, Laura, Madeline and James St. John, and her cousin, Donna Kay Tucker
