Russell David Goodsite, 65, of Burleson, TX, passed away on Wednesday, September 1st, 2021 with his family right by his side. Russell was born in Norwalk, Ohio, but got to Texas as fast as he could. With a smile that lit up every room he entered, Russell will be remembered as a fun-loving husband and father who left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
He enjoyed grilling with his smoker, and the bigger the barbecue, the better. He had an extraordinary work ethic, and spent over 30 years working for BNSF railroad. He was known as a very generous man, with a seat at the barbecue for anyone who wanted to come, invited or not.
Russell is reunited with his wife, Barbara, his parents Gordon Goodsite and Donna Jean Hutcheson, and his siblings Rex, Bob and Robin.
He leaves behind a legacy with his five children, The Kid Sophie, Bobby and his wife Brandy, Brian and his wife Laura, Billie and her husband Dave, and Michelle with her husband Terry, with a list of grandchildren that would make any man proud, including Brandon Goodsite, Whitney Goodsite, Chandler Hoekstra and his wife Mikayla and their daughter Elaina, Alexa Hoekstra, Jaison Strambler and his wife Rachel, Gabriel Strambler, Payton Strambler and Morgan Strambler. His extended siblings include Dale and Linda Boman, Mary and Ned Smith and Nancy Kuhl.
