Robert L Mitchell

Robert Lee Mitchell, Jr. was born on August 10, 1951, to the late Robert Lee Mitchell, Sr. and Alivea  (Buckley) Mitchell. He attended elementary school in Kaufman, Texas. In 1963, Robert and his family moved to Alvarado, where he became known for his athletic talent—especially his love and skill for football.

In 1969, Robert met the love of his life, Gloria Robinson. After graduating from Alvarado High School in 1970, he began his first job at Strato Flex. On July 3, 1971, Robert married Gloria, beginning a lifelong partnership built on love and devotion.

Robert continued his career at Strato Flex, later known as Parker, where he worked for 18 years as a leadman. He then spent 10 years at Mother Parker until his retirement. Following his working years, Robert answered a higher calling into the ministry and became a faithful ordained elder where he served under the leadership of Bishop E W. Whitfield. He was currently serving as assistant pastor at A Change of Christ Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Calvin Jenkins, Sr.  

Preceded in death by his parents Robert Mitchell, Sr. and Alivea (Buckley) Mitchell, brothers: Dwight Mitchell and Michael Mitchell, Sr. 

Robert is survived by his loving wife, Gloria Mitchell; sons Shedrick Mitchell (Rosie) and Michael Mitchell (Kecia); sisters Helen Thomas, Tommie Hawkins, and Laura Hardy (Jerry); brothers Donald Mitchell (Brenda), Ronald Mitchell (Pamela), and Melvin Mitchell; one sister-in-law, Loretta Mitchell; three granddaughters, Naylah, Mykah, and Treasure; and great-grandchildren Fortune and Peace. He is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who cherished him.
