Richard "Wayne" Winkfield was born February 17, 1961, to Annie Mae and Leary Winkfield in Plainview, Texas. He committed his life to Christ at an early age. He went to school in Alvarado, Texas graduating at Alvarado High School Class of 1980.
Richard started his career at Gearhart-Owen Industries, later named Halliburton as a machinist. He later worked at Alvarado ISD, Venus ISD, and Mansfield ISD where he retired after over 30 years as a head custodian.
He loved hunting with his greyhounds, street racing (barefoot) Chevrolet Trucks (not Fords) cracking jokes (all day long) but most importantly he loved his family. The joy of his life was watching and supporting all of his nieces, nephews, kids and grandkids play sports. Richard touched so many lives and a true impact in this world.
On November 16, 2024, God called Richard to his Eternal Home and gave him rest. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Lee and Betty Johnson; his brothers Frank Winkfield Sr. and Carlton Williams.
