Richard Roberts Obituary

Richard Roberts, 82, of Grandview, Texas went to be with the Lord on February 2, 2022.  He was born to Damie and Floyd Roberts in Pasadena, Texas on December 12, 1939.  Richard graduated from Pasadena High School. Richard earned his bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering 1963 from The University of Texas.  He moved to Fort Worth to work for General Dynamics.  There he met his loving wife, Emily, whom he married on his birthday, December 12, 1963.  Richard retired from General Dynamics in 1997 after 34 years.  He and Emily were married 58 years at the time of his death. During his life, Richard had only 1 career, but many jobs.  He was a Sunday School teacher for both youth and adults and a deacon for Benbrook Baptist Church, First Baptist Church Grandview, and Greenbriar Baptist Church.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He had a servant heart.  He was preceded in death by his parents Damie and Floyd O. Roberts as well as his brother, William (Billy) Roberts. He is survived by his wife, Emily Roberts, his daughter and son-in-law Rebecca and Drew Harris, daughter and son-in-law Rachel and Tim DiBenedetto, granddaughter and grandson-in-law Caitlyn and Cal Knowles, granddaughters Miranda DiBenedetto and Carly Harris, grandson Dominick DiBenedetto, great-grandchildren Ava and Kyle Harris, Cade Knowles, Leighton Duclo, sister and brother-in-law Floye and Marshall Smith and many nieces and nephews.  He loved them all. There will be a gravesite ceremony for Richard on Saturday, February 12 at 2:00 pm at the Grandview Cemetery pavilion in Grandview, Texas.  Arrangements are being handled by Clayton Kay-Vaughn funeral home in Alvarado.
