Ralph Gonzales, Sr. Obituary

Ralph Gonzales Sr., a devoted family man and avid outdoors enthusiast, peacefully passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024. Born in Victoria, Texas, to Thomas Gonzales, Jr. and Herminia (Garza) Gonzales, Ralph's journey was marked by love, laughter, and cherished moments.

Ralph's unwavering commitment to family shone through in his roles as a loving husband to Sally Ann Gazaway and a dedicated father to his children. His character was defined by a profound passion for hunting, fishing, and hard work, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those fortunate enough to know him.

Regrettably, Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas (Tom) Jr. and Herminia (Minnie), as well as his children Denver Gonzales, Ralph Gonzales Jr., and Robbie (Robbin) Marie Stapp. Also preceding him were his siblings Jesse Gonzales, Mary Gonzalez, Annie Rodriguez, Larry Gonzales, Benita Stary, and Josephine Cruz. The loss of these loved ones created a void in Ralph's life, but his enduring spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew him.

Ralph is survived by his beloved wife, Ann; son Daniel and his significant other Tracy Green; daughter Marie Gonzales; Albert Stapp and wife, Julie; and Ray Stapp. His legacy extends through his cherished grandchildren, Natalie and Damarcus Rice, Emma Stapp-Stuckey, Marcus and Rebecca Gonzales, Leah Elliott, Erin Lincoln, Keishia and Josh Rodriguez, Kaleb Gonzales, Aaron Thompson, Shana Thompson, Jager and Cloe Goodwin, and Marky Gonzales. Additionally, he leaves behind great-grandchildren Brayla Stapp, Jenna Stapp, Montana Rice, Dakota Rice, Dahlia Gonzales, Nathaniel Gonzales, Alaina Elliott, Drezdin Elliott, Harmony Rodriguez, Heyddenn Rodriguez, Hadlynn Pieper, Dillon Vaughn, Jordan Velasquez, Ariella Thompson, Kyiara Thompson, and Ryder Smith. Among his 13 siblings, Minnie Gonzales, Paul Gonzales, Dale and Julie Gonzales, Pattie Jackson and George Gonzales survive him.

Visitation for the Gonzales family will be held on Friday, February 2, from 6-8 pm at the Clayton Kay Vaughan Funeral Home. A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, February 3, at 12 pm at Sheppard's Valley, with burial to follow at Glenwood Cemetery in Alvarado, Texas.

In this time of sorrow, let us remember Ralph Gonzales Sr. for the joy he brought to the lives of those around him and the enduring legacy of love he leaves behind. May he rest in peace.
