Peggy L. Riley, 92, passed peacefully from this life on April 8, 2026. She was born on March 24, 1934, in Hill County, Texas, and spent much of her life rooted in the community she loved, residing in Alvarado, Texas.
Peggy was a member of Boulevard Baptist Church in Burleson, Texas where her faith was a guiding light throughout her life. She found great joy in serving as a Sunday School teacher, sharing her love of scripture and kindness with others. She also cherished her time in the church choir.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose greatest happiness came from her family. Peggy is survived by her children, Laura Jeter, Jim Jeter, and Renee Kirkland, and her beloved grandchildren, Chesley Jeter and David Jeter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William C. and Juanita (Tackett) Singleton; her grand-daughter, Mistie Jeter-Kelley; her siblings, Weida Hill, Billy Singleton, Faye Teas, Curtis Singleton, Alvin Singleton, Pauline Burrows, and Reba Sharp; and her great-grandsons, Dillion Kelley and Hayden Kelley.
Peggy will be remembered for her gentle heart, her steadfast faith, and the warmth she shared so freely with all who knew her. Her legacy of love, devotion, and kindness will continue to live on in the lives of her family and all those she touched.
She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
