In Loving Memory of Patsy Jo Watson
June 20, 1937 – June 20, 2026

Patsy Jo Watson, beloved mother, grandmother, friend, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2026, on her 89th birthday, in the home of her son, Brett.

Patsy was born on June 20, 1937, in Sand Flat, near Alvarado, Texas, to Frieda E. Childress and Earl Ward. She was raised in Alvarado, where she built lifelong friendships. A proud graduate of Alvarado High School's Class of 1955, Patsy was voted Homecoming Queen—a reflection of her kindness and grace that would define her throughout her life.

She was first married to Tommy Barksdale, and together they welcomed their son, Brett Barksdale.

Patsy spent time as a hairdresser, forming lasting friendships with countless clients. She also worked for Tandy Corporation before entering caregiving.

She resided in Azle until the passing of her husband, Don Watson, then moved.

Patsy had a true sense of adventure. She loved attending rodeos, riding horses and four-wheelers, camping, and mining for gold. She hosted many musicians in her home, filling it with music, and fellowship. Her greatest joy was her family.

As a devoted member of the Christadelphian Church. Her quiet faith and generous spirit touched the lives of many.

Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, Frieda E. Childress and Earl Ward, and by her beloved husband, Don Watson.

She is survived by her son, Brett Barksdale and his wife, Lynette York; 3 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, extended family members and friends; and her Christadelphian brothers and sisters, all of whom will forever cherish her memory.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Patsy's honor to the Alzheimer's Association or to Christadelphian Church, C/O Lorna Butler, 700 S.W. Southridge Drive, Burleson, TX 76028, a faith community that held a special place in her heart.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Gilda Aumiller, Brady Gilbert, Renee, and Chaplain Ron of Max Serve Hospice for their compassionate care and support during Patsy's final days.

Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. As scripture reminds us:

May her memory be a blessing and may all who loved her find comfort in the hope she held so dearly.
