Patricia Louise Fitch

Patricia Louise Fitch, affectionately known as "Patti," was born on August 19, 1950, in Brownsville, Texas, to Francis Ward and Johnnie Louise Johnson.

In 1970, Patti married Joe Fitch, and together they welcomed their only child, Dayna Leigh, in July of that same year.

Patti began her college journey at West Texas State University and later graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science degree. She dedicated her career to the State of Texas as a nutritionist, initially overseeing nursing homes and later transitioning to the WIC program. A highlight of her career was the time she spent in Alaska as the WIC Director. Patti returned to Texas to care for her grandmother, rejoining the WIC program and eventually retiring as the Clinic Services Branch Manager.

Patti will be remembered for her deep love for Christ, her unwavering devotion and fierce loyalty to family and friends, and her irreverent sense of humor.

Throughout her life, Patti had a special place in her heart for all of life's strays. Nieces, nephews, and neighborhood children were always welcomed, nurtured, encouraged, and supported as if they were her own.

She loved reading, fishing, crafting, playing Kismet, cooking, and spoiling all the varied animals her daughter brought home.

Her love for Jesus guided her every step. To know Patti was to love her.

Patti was preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie and Ward Johnson; her baby sister, Dorothy; her older brother, Tommy; and her big sister, Alice Karyn.

She is survived by her daughter, Dayna; nieces, Tami, Diana, and Shai; nephews, Lloyd Chastain and Everett Sr.; their many beloved children and grandchildren; her lifelong best friend, Sheila; and Sheila’s son, Brandon.

Patti was cherished by all who knew her. A celebration of her life will be held at a date and time to be announced.
