Nancy McCue Obituary

Nancy Ann McCue, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, peacefully passed away on February 24, 2024 leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion. She was born on December 11, 1945, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to the late Chester Joseph and Opal Ruth (Hundahl) Pape.

Nancy graduated from East Monona High School in Moorhead, Iowa, where she cultivated lifelong friendships and cherished memories. On April 11, 1965, she married the love of her life, Gary Clayton McCue, with whom she shared 57 years of unwavering companionship and love.

Her life was marked by dedication and hard work. Nancy held various retail positions, farmed, raised horses, and opened a feed store with her husband, Gary. Later, she supported Gary as he pursued a career with Farmland Foods and Tyson, which eventually led them to Texas. While in Texas she enjoyed taking care of her family and spending time on the family farm with their horses.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Nancy was deeply committed to her faith and community. She served as a school aide, Sunday School teacher, and Lay minister, touching the lives of many with her warmth and kindness.

Above all, Nancy was a devoted homemaker who tirelessly worked to ensure the happiness and well-being of her family. Her unconditional love and selflessness knew no bounds, and she leaves behind cherished memories that will be forever treasured by those fortunate enough to have known her.

Nancy is survived by her loving husband, Gary McCue; her cherished daughter, Dee Dee Ruth Pedersen, and son-in-law Brent Pedersen of Grandview; adored grandchildren, Matthew Pedersen of Grandview and Peyton Pedersen of Grand Prairie, Texas; as well as her dear siblings, Peggy Bothwell, Dixie Hageman, Judy Kuhlman, and her husband Norman.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Chester Joe and Opal Ruth, and her brother Terry Pape. Nancy was also predeceased by her brother-in-law, Tom Bothwell.

Visitation will be held at Clayton Kay Vaughan Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 6:30 to 8 p.m. A graveside service to honor Nancy's life will take place on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, with Bill White of the Ranch House Cowboy Church officiating.

Nancy's life was a testament to love, faith, and resilience, and her memory will forever remain etched in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in eternal peace.
