Nancy Marks Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Nancy Ann Marks, who peacefully entered the presence of her Savior on June 26, 2026.

Born on December 28, 1940, in Waxahachie, Texas, Nancy lived a life marked by love, faith, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family. She married the love of her life, James Marks, and together they built a home filled with laughter, grace, and countless cherished memories. On July 2nd they would have been married 66 years.

Nancy worked as a realtor with Jackson Real Estate Agency before retiring from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, where she served in administration.

One of the defining passions of Nancy’s life was sharing her faith in Jesus Christ with others. For more than 20 years, she faithfully taught Sunday School and served in Bible Study Fellowship, pouring God’s Word into the lives of countless children, families, and friends. She found great joy in encouraging others to grow in their faith, and her unwavering love for the Lord was evident not only in what she taught, but in the way she lived each day.

She loved needlepoint, crocheting, shopping, and spending time with her dear friends. Above all, she treasured time with her family. Every holiday gathering, conversation, hug, and milestone was precious to her, and she leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love that will continue to shape the lives of those blessed enough to know her.

Above all, Nancy loved the Lord. Her faith was the foundation of her life and guided the way she loved others. She trusted in God’s promises through every season, finding peace in His presence and strength in His Word. While our hearts grieve her absence, we rejoice knowing she has heard the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant,” and now rests in the eternal joy of her Savior. Though we mourn today, we do so with the hope found in Jesus Christ, knowing this goodbye is only temporary.

Nancy is lovingly survived by her devoted husband, James Marks; her son, Ken Marks, and daughter-in-law, Felicia Marks; her daughter, Amy Pollard, and son-in-law, Michael Pollard; her grandchildren, Amanda Gnaedig, Megan Pearson, William Marks, Sarah Jameson, and Spencer Smith; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Truitt Marks, Myles Marks, Frankie Marks, Luke Jameson, Connor Jameson, Jeremiah Smith, Amelia Gnaedig, Harper Pearson, Kenbrew Pearson, Hazel Pearson, and Kannon Pearson.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sarah Marks, her son, Billy Marks; her brother, Wayne Holmes, and her parents, Bud and Pauline Holmes.

The family would like to thank everyone for the love, prayers, and support shown during this time.
