Minerva Vasquez Saenz, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2025, in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, where she had lived most of her life. She was born on June 20, 1937, in Brownsville, Texas, to Valentin A. Vasquez and Victoria Z. Vasquez.
Minerva was known for her deep love of family and her adventurous spirit. She cherished her large family and found her greatest joy in spending time with her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A passionate traveler, she journeyed across the United States from coast to coast and explored destinations throughout Europe and the Hawaiian Islands.
She married the love of her life, Anacleto Leon Saenz, on November 30, 1958. Together they celebrated 47 years of marriage, raising a family grounded in love, faith, and strong values.
Minerva is survived by her devoted children: Aria Stauffer (Jim), Norma Todd (Larry), Gerardo Saenz (Caroline), Sylvia Allen (Richard), Gloria Saenz, Martha Saenz (Camilo), and Abelardo Saenz (Deyanira). She is also survived by her sisters Genoveva Farmer, Rosalinda Newberry and Rita Conde. She also leaves behind a legacy of grandchildren: Michelle, Sean, Nicholas, Jeremy, Nathan, Chanel, Christopher, Lauren, Victoria, Erin, JoAnna, Lisa, Jennifer, Larry, Justin, Jonathan, Sophia, and Abigail, along with numerous great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Anacleto; and two of her beloved children, Patricia Lee Saenz and David Anacleto Saenz. She is also preceded by her siblings: Valentin Vasquez Jr., Ubaldo Vasquez, Richard Vasquez
Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 17, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Clayton Kay Vaughan Funeral Home in Alvarado, Texas. Funeral services will take place Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, with interment to follow at Venus Memorial Park.
Minerva’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Her strength, kindness, and devotion to her family will never be forgotten.
