In Loving Memory of Michael "Mike" James Thom
Michael James Thom, born on April 22, 1962, in Abilene, Texas, peacefully passed away on November 29, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Leo Thom and Shirley Meuir.
Mike proudly served his country, dedicating four years in the Navy and another four years in the Army as a cook. A man of dedication and learning, Mike earned an associates degree in applied management from Central Texas College and a bachelor's degree in Bible Theology from Norris Bible Baptist. He served as a pastor at Grace Baptist Church in Jacksboro, Texas, and Willow Springs, embodying an old-fashioned revivalist focus on guiding God's people back to Godliness.
Throughout his entire working career in the food service industry, Mike showcased exceptional organizational skills. Even when he lost his voice, he continued to minister by distributing religious tracts to everyone he encountered.
In the later years of his life, Mike found love once again and married Mandy Thom. Together, they shared a life enriched by Mandy's children, Kristian Jones and Allyson Jones. He reveled in the joy of two grandchildren, Elijah Thom and Logan Thom.
