Michael Williamson Obituary

Michael Ray Williamson, 65, of Blum, passed away Saturday, January 4, 2020 in Cleburne, TX. 

A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday at Clayton Kay Vaughan Funeral Home, 200 E Patton Avenue, Alvarado, Texas 76009.

Known as Mike, he was born February 21, 1954 in Great Falls, Montana to Douglas Ray and Sharon Sue Moore Williamson. An ‘army brat’, growing up he lived in Louisiana, Okinawa Island in Japan, and North Carolina, attending High School in Fayetteville, North Carolina.  He served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War, and was awarded a purple heart for being wounded during an ambush. Mike was a master mechanic for most of his life by profession, but he loved fishing, hunting, poker, chess, and teaching his friends and family these pastimes.

Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Douglas Ray Williamson, Sharon Sue Moore Williamson Gibson and loving step-father Alvin ‘Poncho’ Gibson.

Those left to cherish his memory: wife of 20+ years Sherri Parsons; sons, Christopher Michael Williamson of North Carolina, Michael Lee Williamson and wife Jill of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Christopher Lee Williamson of Crowley, Jonathan Lee Williamson and wife Kimberly of Keller, Jeremy Lee Williamson and wife Brittni of Bedford; daughters Kim Marlana Arrington and husband Jonathan of Blum, Angela Michelle Hattaway and husband  Matt of Blum; Step children, Cody Parsons and wife Kim of Cleburne, Jodi Nicole Snider and husband Alan of Grandview; brothers, Douglas Williamson and wife Cecile of Sherwood, Oregon, Donald Williamson and wife Diane of Claremore, Oklahoma; sisters, Cindy Lane and husband Richard of Burleson, Pamela Warren and husband Michael of Lakeview, Oregon; his 19 grandchildren; his nieces and nephews; and the rest of his family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Heart Association or the charity of your choice.  The family of Mike Williamson wishes to thank friends and family who have offered prayers and support during this trying time.
