Michael Jay Bayles, 70, of Alvarado, Texas passed away surrounded by his family on August 19, 2021. Michael was born on March 17th, 1951 in San Diego, California to Jack and Lahoma Bayles. However, he would tell you he was born and raised as a Texas boy. He was a faithful employee to Gerdau for nearly 30 years before retiring in January of 2020. Michael was best known as a Jack of All Trades and a Master of Many. He was a dedicated poker player, a struggling golfer, and a loving Paw-Paw. If you knew him, then you loved him and his smile and genuine laugh will be greatly missed by all.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Lahoma Bayles as well as his
lifelong friend Joe Huffman and wife Connie.. He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Pam, daughter Tammy Miosi and husband Steve, daughter Shea Pulaski and husband David, son Brandon Bayles and wife Lacy, sister Deb Carter and husband Jimmy, sister Starla Rice and husband Randall, and longtime friend Wayne Palmer and wife Vona. He enjoyed teaching, building and spending time with his eight grandchildren Travis, Shane, Daniel, Connor and wife Elizabeth, Emersyn, Jack, Caroline, and Knox as well as his great granddaughter Ava.
Michael will be forever in our hearts. We will have a time for reminiscing with the family on Tuesday, August 24th, 2021 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm and a service celebrating his life on Wednesday, August 25th, 2021 at 2:00 pm both at the First United Methodist Church in Alvarado, Texas.
