Maurice Walter Roussin passed away peacefully at home in Venus, Texas on November 19, 2025. Born on November 6, 1935, in Colchester, Vermont to Albert E. and Marie Angeline (Caron) Roussin, Maurice was blessed to celebrate his 90th birthday surrounded by his adoring family—an occasion he had been joyfully looking forward to.
Maurice proudly served in the United States Air Force. Following his service, he became a skilled carpenter, building million-dollar homes and successfully employing himself throughout his career. His craftsmanship, work ethic, and quiet strength were known by all who had the privilege of working with him.
He is survived by his children: Dawn Boyd and husband Johnny, Julee Theriault and husband David, Romona Beyer and husband Matthew, and Darrell Roussin. He is also survived by his brother Denis Roussin, sister Laurette Rogers, and his first wife, Evangeline Lucille Roussin. Maurice was blessed with 17 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren who lovingly carry on his legacy.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shirley Gardner Roussin; his son, Maurice Walter Roussin, Jr.; and eleven siblings.
Maurice’s life was marked by devotion to family, pride in his craft, and a humble spirit. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
