Mary Ann Fowler passed away peacefully on October 13, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Sanco, Texas, to Clyde Clifton and Mattie Elizabeth (Lord) Gartman.
Mary married her childhood sweetheart, Roy T. Fowler, on June 21, 1952, in Rockwall, Texas. Together they shared over sixty-six wonderful years of marriage until Roy’s passing in 2019. They were blessed with two daughters, Sherry and Karen, and a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure.
Mary worked for more than twenty years at Rangerair Corporation in Cleburne, Texas. After retirement, she and Roy enjoyed traveling extensively with friends and spending cherished time with their grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
After Roy's death, Mary found joy in nature and treasured her visits to the West Coast, where she could spend time with her daughter and be near the ocean. She adored her pets and was famously loyal to her favorite “doctor”—Dr. Pepper.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Roy; her parents, Mattie and Clyde Gartman; and her sister, Clydene Watkins.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughters Karen Lea Fowler and Sherry Lynn Kuykendall; grandchildren Dagan Wayne Kuykendall and Morgan Elizabeth De La Garza and her husband Guillermo; great-grandchildren Isabella Mina, Isaiah Guillermo, and Ivy Grace De La Garza; her siblings Barbara Jones, Linda Butcher, Clyde Gartman, and Terry Gartman and their spouses; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Mary will be interred at a later date at the National Cemetery in Grand Prairie, Texas, alongside her beloved Roy.
Her warmth, humor, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
