January 28, 1936 – March 1, 2026
Mary “Helen” Doucet, age 90, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2026.
Born on January 28, 1936, in Ville Platte, Louisiana, Helen was raised with the strong values of faith, family, and hard work that remained the foundation of her life. She later made her home in Alvarado, Texas, where she became a longtime and cherished member of the community. In February 1956, she married the love of her life, Allen Doucet, beginning a devoted partnership that spanned more than six decades.
Helen dedicated many years of her career to working as an insurance adjuster, earning respect for her diligence and integrity. Above all, she was guided by a deep and abiding Catholic faith, which shaped her generous spirit, steady compassion, and unwavering devotion to her family.
She was a proud and loving mother to Mona Levingston, Carl Doucet, Wayne Doucet, Donna Reynolds, Robert Doucet, Glen Doucet, Byron Doucet, and Philip Doucet. Her legacy continues through her 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy and pride.
Helen found happiness in life’s simple pleasures, especially tending to her garden and gathering around the table for a lively game of dominoes with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Allen, in 2023, and her son, Glen Doucet, in 2015. She is survived by her children Mona, Carl, Wayne, Donna, Robert, Byron, and Philip, along with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Helen’s warmth, strength, and steadfast love will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.
