Mark Wood, 61, of Itasca, TX went home to be with Jesus, on Thursday, May 25, 2023.
A Celebration of Life service will be at 2:30 PM on Saturday, June 3rd at Chambers Creek Baptist Church.
Mark was born on May 1st, 1962, in Visalia, CA, along with his twin brother Mike to Herb and Carlene Wood. Later, their family was joined by younger brother Dave. As a family, they got to live all over the U.S., yet Mark decided to put down roots in Texas.
Mark married his wife Maria on March 11th, 1995, and had two daughters, Elizabeth and Rachele. He was by every definition a “guys guy” but was an amazing “girl dad”. He loved spending time with his daughters, whether that was playing dress up with them, taking them to cheerleading practice, or escorting them on the homecoming court. Mark loved every second of it.
He loved to ride motorcycles and owned several throughout his life. He enjoyed flying airplanes and had his pilot’s license. Wakeboarding was among one of Mark’s favorite hobbies. He loved spending endless days taking his ski boat or sailboat out on Lake Whitney and camping in his RV with his family. Mark was also a self-taught guitar player and owned all kinds of guitars.
Mark drove for East Penn and made lots of friends in the last 7 years working there. Mark had a magnetic personality that drew people in. He truly never met a stranger and did his best to get to know people on a personal level. He made friends everywhere he went.
On Sunday’s, he attended Chambers Creek Baptist Church. He often rode his motorcycle to Church with his Bible in the saddle bag. He really started to pursue his faith in Jesus during the last few years with the community at Chambers Creek.
Mark is survived by wife, Maria Wood; daughters, Elizabeth and Rachele Wood; Parents, Herb and Carlene Wood; Brothers, Mike and Dave Wood.
