Margie Ruth (Mason) Deal

Margie Ruth (Mason) Deal, 92 of Alvarado, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 23,
2024. She was born on August 8, 1932, in Mineola, Texas to loving parents who instilled in her
the values of hard work, faith, and kindness that she carried throughout her life.
Margie graduated as Valedictorian from Mineola High School, demonstrating her exceptional
intellect and determination as she was the first in her family to graduate from high school. She
went on to work for Southwestern Bell. She married the love of her life, Clifford Deal, on
November 14, 1964. Together, they built a home filled with love, laughter and joy. As a devoted
homemaker, Margie poured her heart into her family and community.
Margie was a woman of deep faith and an active member of the First Baptist Church in
Alvarado. Her passion for service extended to the Clio Club, Garden Club, and Santa’s
Helpers. Margie also gave her time generously as an election volunteer for many years.
Margie’s love for nature and creativity bloomed in her role as a master gardener, transforming
her surroundings into a haven of beauty and serenity. Her gardens were a testament to her
care and artistry, as was her life, which touched everyone she knew.
Margie is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years, Clifford of Alvarado; her son, Cliff and
his wife, Michelle of Dallas; and her granddaughter Riley, who brought immense joy to her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Lindsey and Lula Belle (Myers) Mason, her
sisters Johnnie and Lucille and her brother Bonnie. She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith,
and service that will continue to inspire those who knew her.
Margie’s graveside service will be held at the Glenwood Cemetery on Saturday, December 14,
2024, at 1pm with services led by Pastor Wade Taylor. Margie’s kindness, grace, and
unwavering devotion to her family and faith will forever remain in the hearts of those who were
blessed to know her.
