M. F. Fannin III Obituary

MF Fannin III, 73, of Alvarado, Texas passed away suddenly on August 28, 2021 from natural causes. The family will be holding a public “Celebration of Life” on September 11th, 2021 at Clayton Kay-Vaughan Funeral Home, 200 E Patton Ave Alvarado, Texas 76009 from 2 pm -4 pm.

MF Fannin III was born in Lane, Oklahoma on August 31, 1947 to Mildred and MF Fannin Jr. He grew up in Rockwall, Texas and graduated from Rockwall Highschool in 1965.

March 7th, 1967 he married Vickie Monk and they had two children: Gena and Bryan.

MF retired from GTE and Success, currently he was working part time at Branch Iron Works because he was a hard worker by nature and just sitting at home wasn’t an option because he loved to spoil his children. MF enjoyed deer hunting and creating memories with the family like the great time spent at the deer lease in Gordon. He loved his blue jeep. He loved watching old Westerns in complete silence... So you better not talk during the show, asking what's going on because he would say, “can’t you shut up and just watch it.”  His catch phrase to the women  was, “Oh God, girl”  His daughters’ both grand and great  were the apple of his eye, if they asked him to jump he would jump right then no questions asked. All and all Papa was a very caring, giving, and loving man who will truly be missed.

MF is survived by his wife Vickie and 2 children: Gena and Bryan, 2 grandchildren: Megan and Dillon, and 2 great grandchildren: Zoey and Bella, and 1 brother; Mac Fannin and 1 sister; Deborah Salvador, and 10 half siblings; Randy Fannin and wife Cynthia, Tommy Fannin and wife LeJeana, Russell Eldridge and wife Ronda, Gary Eldridge, Kevin Eldridge and wife Sheila, Paul Eldridge, Sherry Weaver and husband Dennis, Rhonda Allen and husband Jimmie, Fred Fannin, and numerous nieces, and nephews.

MF is preceded in death by his father, MF Fannin Jr,  his step mother Wanda Fannin, and his brother Todd Fannin.
