Lynn Raymond Petty

Lynn Raymond Petty, 68, peacefully passed away surrounded by his family on Wednesday, May 8, 2024. He was born 

August 18, 1955 to Nellie Ovell and James Rolin Petty. Lynn served in the United States Army from 1973-1979. 

Upon entering the civilian world, he served in the industries of construction, automotive and transportation, all

the while dedicating countless years as a coach and mentor in Alvarado, Texas. He was an active member of the 

Church of Christ and the Full Gospel Tabernacle. 

Lynn and Tracy were married on March 30, 1979 in Fort Worth and recently celebrated their 45th anniversary. Lynn 

& Tracy moved to Alvarado in 1989 and became active members of the Youth Association and Alvarado school system. Lynn had

 a passion for the outdoors and loved coaching baseball, a volunteer duty he performed for over 20 years. He was 

strong in his faith, serving in several prison ministries throughout the years, and brought many lost souls to 

Christ. 

He is survived by his loving wife Tracy; brothers Kennith and Jerry; daughter Gail and husband Stacy; 

sons Luke and wife Krissy, and Jake and wife Kaegan; and 6 grandchildren Kayla, Gatlin, Faith, Hope, Joy and Knox. 

He was preceded in death by his father James Petty, and mother Nellie Petty.

Services will be held at the Alvarado Church of Christ on Saturday, May 18 at 10:00 a.m.
