Lupe Valderas, 86, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2020 in Hillsboro, Texas.
Lupe was born August 13, 1934 in Files Valley, Texas the daughter of Bernado Pete Cadena and Rebecca Pulgarin Cadena. She married Robert Valderas January 21, 1951 in Cleburne, Texas. Lupe was a member of Our Lady of Mercy in Hillsboro. She loved cooking for her family, fishing, growing a fine herb and vegetable garden, wrangling critters, and loving the Lord. She was quick to give a hug or use the shotgun to take out a Rattle Snake. Our own Annie Oakley. Her tortillas were legendary. She was tough as nails.
And, her home was always open to everyone. She will be greatly missed.
Preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Valderas, 3 brothers, Felix Cadena, Raymond Cadena, and Pete Cadena; and 5 sisters, Mary Valderas, Tina Alonzo, Concha Santos, Carmen Martinez, Judy Gutierrez.
Those left to cherish her memory: Son, Robert John Valderas and wife Adela; daughters, Lupe Macias and her husband Alfonso, Sally Panting and her husband Juan; Lucia Chavarria and her husband Bruno; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.
