Lucia “Lucy” Acevedo was born 10.14.1945 in Mirando City, Texas. She fought a good fight yet God wanted her more this day, September 17, 2023.
“Lucy” married Alvaro Acevedo and moved to Alvarado to begin their life of new beginnings. She and Alvaro had three children, Alvaro Jr., Mario & Belinda. She proudly protected and bragged about them immensely. Each one her world and made sure she did anything an everything for. She became a beautician for many years showing pride, enjoying & doing everyone’s hair. Her expertise as a Quality Control Inspector for many years in the DFW area - knowing the accomplishments of her daily life of job & family duties, the wonderful day of retirement came upon to say she did it. She retired, acknowledged and thanked our God for every blessing before then and after. She settled in with the biggest of titles one could have a Mother, Wife, Daughter Sister, Aunt & friend to all who may have needed her presence. She loved dancing, playing bingo, shopping, making flower decor for weddings or any event in need. Most of all loudly or quietly, she loved our God. Her Faith strong in many ways.
“Lucy” is preceded in death by sons; Alvaro Jr and Mario Acevedo, brother; Jesus Vargas Jr, parents; Jesus R. & Consuelo L. Vargas
“Lucy” is survived by husband Alvaro Acevedo, daughter Belinda (Leonard III) Abshire, four grandchildren: Willow Abshire, Nicolas Acevedo & Crista Acevedo and Jake Acevedo; two sisters; Victoria V.
