Lou Ann Grimes
March 1, 1956 – December 17, 2025
Lou Ann Grimes, affectionately known as “Meme,” was known for her warm heart, free spirit, and deeply loving nature. She passed away peacefully on December 17, 2025, surrounded by those she loved. Lou Ann was born on March 1, 1956, in Fort Worth, Texas, to John Lee Weatherford and Dorothy Louise Skinner Weatherford Brannon.
Lou Ann grew up in Fort Worth and was a proud graduate of Southwest High School. She later built a life centered on love, faith, fun, and family. She was married to the love of her life, Monte Carl Grimes, for 33 wonderful years. Together, they shared a life filled with laughter, music, and dancing—one of Lou Ann’s greatest joys.
Lou Ann worked as a Commercial Loan Officer at Chase Bank, where she was respected for her dedication, professionalism, and kindness. She built lasting relationships with both clients and coworkers. She made her home in Alvarado, Texas, where her faith and fellowship were an important part of her daily life.
Above all else, Lou Ann cherished her family. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Sarah Renae Taylor, and son-in-law, Jeff Taylor; and her adored grandchildren, Henley Faith Taylor, Barrett Carl Taylor, and Emberly Jo Taylor, who were truly the light of her life. She is also survived by her sister, Vonnie Slovak; her brother, Jackie Weatherford; her sister-in-law, Monta Lea Grimes; and numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends who were family in every sense of the word.
Lou Ann found joy in the simple and beautiful moments of life—quilting with care, gardening with patience, fishing, spending treasured time with her grandchildren, dancing hand in hand with her husband, and laughing with everyone she held dear. Though she had one daughter, her heart was big enough to hold many. She lovingly treated countless friends, nieces, nephews, and loved ones as her own, and each carries her love forward.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Monte Carl Grimes; her sister, Sharon Freeman; her brother, John Lee Weatherford; her uncle, Jack Skinner; her mother and stepfather, Dorothy and Charles Brannon; her father, John Lee Weatherford; and her in-laws, Barbara and Monte Floyd Grimes.
Lou Ann’s legacy is one of love freely given, joy generously shared, and family found not only by blood, but by heart. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were blessed to know her.
