Linda Sue Dennis (1944-2024) went to be with Jesus in the early hours of Tuesday,
August 6th , 2024.
Linda was born in Lillian, TX on March 31st , 1944 to Earl Leonard and Madelene Berry.
She married the love of her life, Frank Dennis, on October 21, 1961. Linda served
faithfully as both a cafeteria worker in Alvarado ISD for 36 years and as a Sunday
School teacher for 46 years at Thompson, Fundamental, and Liberty Baptist Churches.
She will be remembered for her servant’s heart, her tireless work ethic, and the
inexhaustible love she had for her family and friends. She loved to cook, to work in her
garden, and to be surrounded by those she loved both at church and at family
gatherings.
Linda (better known as “Nanny” or “Ninny” to her grandchildren) was preceded in death
by her husband of 50 years, Frank; son, Jerry Dennis; parents, Earl and Madelene;
brothers, Bennie and Glenn Leonard; and sister, Mary Rice.
She is survived by: son, Tommy Dennis and his wife Jill; daughter, Susan Dennis;
daughter-in-law Karen Bradley and her husband Jackie; grandchildren Michael and his
wife Brandi, Lesley Springsteen and her husband Kaiden, Bailey Dennis and his wife
Emily, Bryce Dennis and his fiancé Kassandra Goyita, Blake Dennis, and Brooke
Dennis; great-grandchildren Austin, Emma, Nora and Harrison Dennis and Alana and
Harper Springsteen; sisters Earlene Cherry and Anna Singleton; sisters-in-law Edna
and Janice Leonard; brother James Leonard and his wife Donna; brother Robert
Leonard and his wife, Cherith; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family and
friends.
Visitation will be held at Clayton Kay Vaughn Funeral Home in Alvarado from 6:00-
8:00pm on Thursday night, August 8th. Memorial service will be held at Renovation
Church at the Peak in Midlothian at 10:00am on Friday morning, August 9th. Graveside
will follow at Pleasant Point Cemetery in Alvarado.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s
