Kairen “Kendrick” Renick was born on June 9, 1948 in Cleburne, Texas. She was a graduate of Burleson High School and Texas Christian University. Kairen was very active in politics and was a proud member of the Johnson County Democratic Party for several years. She also served as a county election chair and director several times in both Johnson and Tarrant counties.
Kairen was the mother of three children, Richard, Riley, and Caitlyn. However, many people considered Kairen their surrogate mother. She cared deeply for her family and friends. She did this not out of obligation, but because of who she was. She was always the first to offer help to anyone in need. She was always available to help or listen to any child that needed her and she ensured that every child who crossed her threshold was safe, healthy, and happy
Kairen will be remembered for her passion and conviction for fighting for causes and people she believed in. This was apparent in her love for her family. She is survived by her youngest son, Riley Stephens and daughter Caitlyn Renick. She was preceded in death by her parents Nathan “Pat” and Kay Kendrick; brother, Pat Kendrick Jr., her oldest son Richard Ryan Stephens, husband James Renick and along with several aunts and uncles.
A memorial service for Kairen will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Clayton Kay Vaughn Funeral Home in Alvarado, Texas.
