Judith "Judie" Lynn (Hanks) Miles

Judith “Judie” Lynn Miles, of Crowley, Texas, went home to Jesus on November 29, 2025, rejoicing in Heaven. She was born on August 6, 1946, in Odessa, Texas, to Harvey and Doris (Shelton) Hanks.

In Weatherford, Texas, Judie married the love of her life, Lester Ray Miles, and together they shared 58 blessed years. They raised a family rooted in love, supporting one another and deeply cherishing their children.

Judie grew up in Alvarado, surrounded by her amazing siblings. She was a proud Alvarado High School graduate, Class of 1964, where she was a cheerleader, volleyball player, basketball player, FFA Sweetheart, on the annual staff, a member of the library club, and she enjoyed twirling the baton. She later graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington, earning her degree in nursing. Judie dedicated her career to caring for others and was one of the original team members of the NICU at Harris Hospital in Fort Worth, serving countless families with compassion until her retirement in 2014.

Judie is survived by her devoted husband, Lester Miles; her children, Jimmy Miles, Nicholas Miles, and daughter Jennifer Messick and husband Stephen; her siblings, Harvey Dale Hanks and wife Doris, sister-in-law Sandra Hanks, Richard Paul Hanks and wife Debbie, Danny Ray Hanks and wife Mechelle, and Melissa Ann Ginglewood; along with seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, David Hanks.

Judie enjoyed collecting Terri Lee dolls and had a special fondness for shopping. Most of all, she loved her family deeply, and her gentle spirit and strong faith will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Clayton Kay Vaughan Funeral Home in Alvarado, Texas. Funeral services will follow on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., with interment at Glenwood Cemetery in Alvarado.
