Johnny Gatlin Obituary

Johnny Dale Gatlin was born August 11, 1941 to Wesley and Lila (Nelson) Gatlin on the family farm in Grandview,Texas . He lived on Gatlin land until his passing. He retired from Hayes and Stolz in Fort Worth after 30 years. Johnny loved to farm, tend his cattle, fish, wood working, and watching a great western. He never passed up a scratch off or a trip North to Winstar. He loved spending time with his family. He was a man of few words , but everyone that met him loved him. He had the sweetest demeanor. We have a saying in our family that if you don’t love Johnny Gatlin, there’s something wrong with you. We will miss him dearly.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, William Gatlin; son, Jimmy Gatlin.

He is survived by the love of his life, Linda. His son Wesley Gatlin and wife Vanessa of West. His daughter Angela Johnson of Azle, Connie Reed of Grandview, and Terry Donaldson and husband Wayne of Springtown. His step-children; Vala and Dwayne. Grandchildren; Miranda, Lexi, Tristan, Kellen, Kristen, Cadence, Misty, Chance, and Angel, Siblings; Vera Marbut and Ricky Gatlin and wife Connie; numerous nieces and nephews, cousins.

A celebration of his life will be Sunday, October 09, 2022 at Clayton Kay Vaughan Funeral Home at from 2-4pm.
