The Heavens rejoiced as the world wept with the passing of John Lane Gann, 70, August 31st, 2019. John was born in Oklahoma City on April 25th, 1949 to Melvetia Lane Gann and John Earl Gann.
He is a 1967 graduate of Arlington High School, and graduate of LeTourneau University. John held a Texas State Master’s License, and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, IBEW, Local 59. After a successful career as an electrician, he shifted his professional focus and became the Director of Maintenance for Alvarado ISD, Keller ISD, and then Crowley ISD. Upon retirement in 2016, instead of driving the miles to work, he decided to drive the miles to love on his children and grandchildren.
John married the love of his life, Susan Lusk Gann, January 2nd, 1973 and was blessed with two children, Nikki Pauline Gann and Casey Burgel Gann, and in 2010, adopted Tommy Joe Krumm Gann. John loved his family, hunting, horses, and his church, Alvarado Church of Christ, where he served as an elder. John was preceded in death by his parents, John Earl Gann, and mother, Melvetia E. Gann, father-in-law, Billy Eugene Lusk, and sister, Muriel Edna Snoddy. John is survived by his wife of 46 years, Susan Gann, mother-in-law, Patricia Lusk, sister, Melodye Gann Brooks, daughter, Nikki Sims and her husband, Aubrey Sims, son, Casey Gann, and his wife, Ashly Gann, and Tommy Joe Krumm Gann. He was lovingly called Gramps by his four precious granddaughters, Reagan Sims, Rylie Sims, Alexis Gann, and Alyson Gann. Uncle John dearly loved his nieces and nephews Quatro Brooks, Gann Brooks, Howdee Snoddy, Sara Baker, Kit Krumm, Kandi Krumm, J.J. Snoddy, and Matthew Snoddy.
