Joe Wade Gore was born to Dalton and Bobbie Jo Murphree Gore on February 9, 1947,
in Knox City, Texas. Joe grew up in Vera, Texas. He attended school there through the
8th Grade and graduated from Benjamin, Texas, High School in 1965. While in high
school, Joe played on the baseball, basketball, and football teams. Hunting and fishing
became a lifelong avocation.
Working with his brother Rudy, Joe learned the metal forming business. After spending
time working with different manufacturers, Joe decided to go into business with his
brother Randal Gore. In 1983 they acquired land in Venus, Texas, and began working to
build the business. That business, Venus Fab, is thriving with the second generation of
Gores.
Joe was home at the time of his death. Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Dalton
and Bobbie Jo Murphree Gore, and son Christopher Henson. Family remembering Joe
today include: wife Helen Bailey Gore, of the home; brother Larry Dan and Carol Gore,
Wichita Falls, Texas; sister Letha and Butch Young, Fort Worth, Texas; brother Randal
Gore, Mansfield, Texas; sister Dara and Kevin Trainham, Goree, Texas; brother Rudy
Gore, Vera, Texas; daughter Robin Decker, Wichita Falls, Texas; daughter Kandy and
Danny Atnip, Wichita Falls, Texas; daughter Sherrie Berend, Wichita Falls, Texas;
daughter Renee and T.R. Banks, Edmond, Oklahoma; grandchildren Justin James,
Kolten Atnip, Marlie Berend, Lilly and Jack Banks, J.D. and Cole Henson, and George
Young; great granddaughter Harmony James. Extended family and friends are
remembering Joe today as well.
