Joan Velma Powell

Joan Velma Powell peacefully left this earth on Wednesday July 14th, 2021. Joan was born October 3rd, 1942 in Culman, Alabama the daughter of Ivon Clomer Hayes and Lillian Mae Jett Hayes. Joan would later meet and marry her beloved husband Richard Powell in June of 1960.

Joan is preceded in death by her husband Richard Powell, daughter Sara Rossi, grandson Billy Bob Acton II, granddaughter Christina Rossi, brothers Eugene Hayes and Charles Hayes, and sister Opal Glenda Fisher.

Family left to cherish her memory are her children, Pamela Powell, Fred Powell, and Lillian Powell Wilson; her brother Jimmie Hayes; beloved cousin Connie Chambers. She also leaves behind 7 grandchildren Eric Acton, Joy Gilliland, Al Rossi, Rick Powell, Nick Powell, Billijo Powell, Kody Powell and 7 adoring great-grandchildren.
