James Christopher "Mule" Ward

James Christopher “Mule” Ward, 66, passed away on January 11, 2026. He was born on February 28, 1959, in Arlington, Texas, to Bobby Gene Ward and Joyce Ann Stockton, and spent his childhood growing up in Arlington.

Chris was a hardworking man who spent his career with Harrison Jet Guns. In 2020, he made his home in Alvarado, Texas.

Known for his strong spirit and gentle heart, Chris lived life on his own terms. In his younger years, he rode bulls and carried that sense of grit and independence with him throughout his life. He had a deep love for music—especially the songs of his favorite artist, Hank Williams Sr.—and enjoyed playing guitar. Chris also loved fishing, watching football, gaming, and most of all, spending cherished time with his great nieces, who brought him endless joy. We can’t leave out that he was a diehard TX Longhorn fan!

Chris was preceded in death by his daughter, Whitney Ward; his parents, Bobby Gene Ward and Joyce Ann Stockton; and his grandmother, Audrilla Stockton.

He is survived by his brother, Greg Ward and his wife, Michele Ward; his sister, Jana Ward Petty and her husband, Brian Petty; his nephews, Collier and Landry Ward, and Colton and Camden Petty; and his great-nieces, Haylee, Ashlee, Shaelee, and Harlee Petty. He is also remembered with love by extended family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on January 31st @ 1:00 p.m. (come and go) at the home of Greg and Michele Ward, 2501 Shady Meadow Dr., Bedford, TX 76021.
