Horace Taylor Obituary

Horace Taylor was born on February 15, 1925 in Itasca, Texas to Jasper Claude and Flossie Myrtle Taylor. He married Helen Ruth Moon on June 5, 1942. They were married 71 years. Horace served with distinction in the Pacific Theater during WWII. Upon his return from the war, he resumed farming and raising a family. He and Ruth had 3 daughters, Carolyn, Susan, and Jana. He worked for John Deere dealer in Alvarado and Cleburne for 18 years. Later, he was manager of Grandview Coop Gin for 18 years. He and Ruth were members of Parker Baptist Church. He was Past Master and Member of Grandview Masonic Lodge for over 60 years. Horace passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at Grandview Nursing Home. He is proceeded in death by his wife, Ruth  Taylor; his parents, Claude and Flossie Taylor; his siblings, Elsie Mae Rose, Rosalee Whitfield, Annie Ruth Clepper, and Elvin Taylor. He is survived by his younger brother, Lester Taylor; his 3 daughters and their spouses, Carolyn and Alfred Harwell, Susan and Wayne Polson, and Jana and Curtis Jones; grandchildren, Tracy Findley, Tony Harwell, Cari Goodman, Chari Horton, Justin Jones, and Janelle Yeager; as well as numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. (There are 3 generations of grandchildren, great - grandchildren and great - great grandchildren.) In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be sent to Grandview Masonic Lodge or Parker Baptist Church.
