Loving mother, sister, and “Gramma,” Glena Carroll, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, January 17th, 2024, at 67. She was born in Ashtabula, Ohio, in May of 1956 to parents Glen and Patricia Keplinger. The family moved to Texas in 1963 and resided in White Settlement. She attended Brewer High School with her siblings Cyndi, Debbi, Danny, and David.
Everyone who knew Glena appreciated her work ethic. To her children and grandchildren, her consistent dedication was an inspiration. She began working for Lockheed, American Flat Glass, and lastly with Trulite Glass and Aluminum. During her later years, she was on the road with Joe, Bill and Debbi, going on various adventures across the country on their bikes, as well as camping and fishing trips. She was blessed to have such a close group of family and friends to share life with. Her relationship with her sister Debbi is something we all should aspire to. Her dog, Princess Lucy Lu, was a faithful, loving companion these last months.
Gramma was known for hosting exciting weekend sleepovers with fun, food, and adventure movies. Glena loved cooking; her mac and cheese was the best on Thanksgiving, and her potato salad was a hit in the summer. She was an avid reader and loved a good puzzle. The grandkids all have fond memories of doing puzzles with Gramma. Glena had such a calm and easygoing demeanor. She approached all problems in life with patience and a gentle soul. We were all blessed to have her in our lives. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Glena had eight grandchildren: Morgan, Zane, Katie, Anna, Ashlyn, Payton, London, and Elizabeth. And three great-grandchildren: Mason, Charlee, and Paisley.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Patricia Keplinger, partner Joe Landis, brother Danny Keplinger, and sister Cyndi Knapp. She is survived by her sister Debbi Carroll, brother David Keplinger, son Michael Stallons, daughter Christina Bailey, and their families.
Regarding Glena’s wishes, there will not be a funeral service. For those who wish to
Honor Glena, please consider donations to the American Kidney Fund.
