Giddion Wesley “G.W.” Bain, 87, of Alvarado, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home on April, 21, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born July 23, 1938, in Peerless, TX to Gideon Wesley Bain and Elizabeth Campbell Bain.
G.W. married the love of his life, Betty Jane Dewitt Bain, on December 29, 1955, in Hugo, OK. Together they shared 70 wonderful years of marriage, building a life rooted in love, hard work, faith, and devotion to family.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Betty Bain; daughters Julie Bain England of Alvarado and Margie and Tommy Seymore of Lubbock; son Scott and Gayla Bain of Lubbock; grandchildren Darra, Kristen, and Hannah, Chasta, Alicia, Mitch, and Matthew; and 17 great-grandchildren . G.W. was especially proud of his extended family of nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his seven siblings and son-in-law, Don England.
G.W. dedicated 32 years of service to Container Corporation of America, where he built a respected career through hard work and integrity. Following retirement, he and Betty began a new chapter together, opening and operating a successful RV park in Alvarado, where they enjoyed meeting people and continuing their shared spirit of hospitality and entrepreneurship.
G.W. will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, proud provider, and a man whose quiet strength, kindness, and steady presence touched all who knew him. He deeply valued family, took pride in honest work, and leaves a legacy of love and perseverance that will live on through generations.
A graveside service and interment will be held at 1:00, Saturday, April 25, at the Peerless Cemetery.
He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.
